Awarded the John Howe Scott Sophomore Prize in Chemistry… Member of the Dean’s List… Completed chemistry biology research in the Witus Lab.
2019
Hoppe competed in all seven races for the Scots… Earned a 10th place finish at the Falcon Invitational Sept. 6 with a time of 25:23.3… Set a PR in the 6k at MIAC Championships with a time of 24:22.4 on Nov. 2… Placed 97th in the 6k at the NCAA Central Region Championships on Nov. 16 with a time of 25:19.0… Received MIAC Academic All-Conference honors.
2018
Ran four times throughout the season… Took 23rd in her first race of the season, finishing the Macalester/St. Olaf 4k in 18:20… Set a PR in the 6k at the Roy Griak Invitational on Sept. 29, running the race in 25:51.

Why did you choose to attend Macalester?
Macalester offers the rigorous academic programs, research and internship opportunities, and strong community feel that I was seeking. After being warmly welcomed by the track team during a campus visit, I felt at home and was excited to be a Scot.
How has your experience as a student-athlete at Macalester helped shape you as an individual?
My experience as a student-athlete has challenged me in numerous aspects of my life and allowed me to grow holistically. It has been an enriching opportunity to participate in the activities I love while practicing balance and perseverance.
