Dean’s List recipient … Member of Fossil Free Macalester.
2017
Named to the MIAC All-Academic Team… Started the year running the St. Olaf Invitational in 26:17… Took a minute off her time, completing the Carleton Running of the Cows 6k in 25:14 on Sept. 30… Set a PR in the 6k at the Jim Drews/Tori Neubauer Invitational, finishing in 24:53… Added a personal record in the 5k at the St. Kate’s Invite with a time of 20:33, which was good for a 31st place finish.
2016
Ptacek made her collegiate debut with a time of 26:10 for the 6,000 meter course at the St. Olaf Invitational ... Ran a time of 20:42 in the 5,000 meter at the St. Kate’s Invitational ... Ran a 6,000 meter PR of 25:34 at the UW-La Crosse Tori Neubauer Invitational.

Earned HVAL All-League honors running for Poughkeepsie Day School.
Why did you choose to attend Macalester?
I absolutely loved the cross country team and everyone that I met, and the science program is fantastic. I also am very interested in internationalism.
What has your experience at Macalester meant to you so far?
Attending an institution such as Macalester has completely influenced the ways in which I interact with people on a day-to-day basis in such a positive way. I am so grateful to be able to go to Macalester.
