Amanda Neby joins the Macalester women’s basketball coaching staff as an assistant coach. Neby spent the past eight seasons as an assistant coach for the girls’ basketball varsity team at Orono (Minn.) High School. A former standout at Robbinsdale Armstrong High School, she starred at Division I Radford (Va.) University from 2000-04.
At Radford, Neby compiled 1,293 points and 723 rebounds to rank fifth and eighth, respectively on Radford’s all-time lists. A three-time All-Big South selection, she led the Highlanders in scoring and rebounding in her final three seasons.
A media studies major at Radford, Neby earned her Bachelor’s degree in 2004 and received a Master’s degree in Sport and Athletic Administration from Gonzaga University in 2016. She currently works as an event and program consultant.
