Played in 16 games for the Scots and made three starts in her first year campaign... had 14 at bats.. collected her first collegiate hit on March 19 vs. Plattsburgh State... scored four runs on the season.. In the outfield Platt had 10 putouts and a perfect 100% fielding average.

Served as two-year team captain for Boulder High School … Named team defensive MVP as a senior … Twice earned all-conference second team honors … Named CHSAA/IBM High School Hero … Two-time recipient of academic all-state honors … Graduated with an AP Diploma … Member of National Honor Society

 

Why did you choose to attend Macalester?

I was looking for a D3 school that was strong academically and that allowed me to continue playing softball. My high school softball coach actually recommended Macalester, because his daughter went here. After visiting Macalester, along with the five other schools I was seriously considering, Macalester was my favorite. It has a strong Political Science department (what I think I'll major in), a close knit softball team, and it's in a great location.

What has your experience at Macalester meant to you so far?
I'm thankful for my past year and a half at Macalester because it has allowed me to break out of my comfort zone, push myself both academically and athletically, as well as live in a new area and meet some of the best friends I've ever had.
