Heather Jennings is in her tenth season as assistant softball coach with Macalester College, where her knowledge and experience have been invaluable to the team.
Head Coach Jody Gabriel said, "I am thankful that Heather has decided to stay with the Macalester softball program. Her nine years of coaching experience here at Macalester, her knowledge of the MIAC, and her positive relationships with the members of the team will be beneficial to our mission of success. Her passion for softball and seeing this program and its young women grow and succeed are clear. We are very fortunate to have Heather as an assistant coach."
A native of Hanlontown, Iowa, Jennings attended Waldorf College, where she participated in the National JUCO softball tournament. At Waldorf she was a standout member of the all-region team and was also selected as a team captain. She continued her successful softball career as a Division I scholarship catcher and designated hitter for the University of Northern Iowa in Cedar Falls. She graduated with a B.A. in Education and a minor in Health and Coaching. Jennings began her teaching and softball coaching career at her former high school, North Central, in Manly, Iowa.
Jennings currently resides in St. Paul and owns an interior painting company.
