    Softball Pitching Coach
Ashley Bertrand joined the Macalester coaching staff in the fall of 2017 as the Scots’ pitching coach. Bertrand previously served as an assistant softball coach at UW-River Falls from 2010-14. During her tenure at UW-River Falls, the Falcons won back-to-back WIAC titles in 2011 and 2012 and advanced to the NCAA playoffs both years. Bertrand and the Falcons’ coaching staff was selected the NFCA Great Lakes Region Coaching Staff of the Year in both 2011 and 2012. She has taught private pitching lessons and clinics for Tonka Recreation since 2002.

As a player at UW-River Falls, Bertrand was a two-time All-Great Lakes Region pitcher and a first team All-WIAC selection in 2007. She holds the school record for starts with 112 and ranks second on the Falcons’ all-time lists for career strikeouts (572) and wins (52).

A 2009 graduate from UW-River Falls with a degree in accounting, Bertrand is obtaining a Master’s degree of Public and Non-Profit Administration from Metro State University. She currently works for the City of Arden Hills as an accounting analyst.
