Why did you choose to attend Macalester?
I wanted a challenging education, one that makes well-rounded and thoughtful people. The students and staff at Macalester reach out to students in a different way than other schools. And, of course, because I wanted to make a positive difference to the soccer program at Mac.

What has your experience at Macalester meant to you so far?
Macalester has exposed me to a variety of experiences, people, and places that have helped me develop into a more thoughtful person. The people at Macalester, especially my teammates, have become like a family to me. As I continue to contribute to the wonderful soccer program and lively student life, I'm reminded of how proud I am to be a Scot.

How has your experience as a student-athlete at Macalester prepared you for life after graduation?
After graduation, I will look back on my experience as a student-athlete and be thankful about all the learning opportunities it has provided me. Going through college in the team atmosphere has showed me that the best way to achieve a progressive environment is by including everyone in the process. I find it necessary to provide a supportive network like we have on the soccer team so that everyone has the resources they need to strive. I have also developed my ability to juggle multiple responsibilities effectively so that I do not have to make detrimental sacrifices. Although there have been stressful times, I am now equipped to handle multiple responsibilities without being overwhelmed. Finally, I have a context for what to expect after graduation because of the previous student-athletes that have shared their experiences with me.
