Honors:
MIAC All-Conference Honorable Mention - Fall 2008, Fall 2010
Why I chose Macalester:
"Mac was so appealing to me because of its proximity to such a great city, the personal relationships that professors develop with their students. Also, the students' ability to maintain a fun atmosphere in such a great academic environment makes Mac the way college should be."
What Macalester has meant to me:
"Macalester thus far has been everything I have needed it to be. Last year had highs like playing in front of our electric home fans that far outweighed its lows (like gen chem.) A challenging and interesting curriculum coupled with a great community of peers and professors have made it a great setting for me to take the first steps into the next phase of my life."
Macalester through Junior Year:
"My time at Macalester has produced nothing but good experiences so far. The reasons that brought me here, such as the proximity to such a lively pair of cities and strong and personal academics, have proven themselves to be more and more true every year. The cities have been constant sources of sporting events, concerts, and other forms of entertainment. The academic experience has continually improved over the past two years, simply because I have gotten to be involved in many departments and therefore have become acquainted with and received guidance from various sides of the faculty. In all departments, I have felt supported and well cared-for. What has kept me happiest, however, has been the soccer. Even before our on-field success it was fun just to be a part of such a well-run program with such a good group of peers and staff. That being said, it was incredibly fun to be with said program while it went through such a spell of success and the end of last season; culminating in the MIAC tournament championship and a trip to the first and second rounds of the NCAA tournament. This coming year, we certainly will look to replicate and build upon that success, and look to be fully capable of doing so, as our experience has only increased."
How Macalester Soccer has prepared me for life after graduation:
Being a student athlete at Mac has provided lots of experience that will be applicable later in life. Most notably the importance of hard word and dedication, as well as being able to balance and budget the time that goes into that hard work. Interactions with people on a team in pursuit of a common goal is another thing that my Macalester experience has provided me with. Whatever the future holds for me, I will not tackle it unprepared.
