Why did you choose to attend Macalester?
I chose to attend Mac for its combination of high level soccer, academic reputation, and location. Playing competitive soccer while attending a top-level institution is a great opportunity. Also, l can take advantage of what the Twin Cities offer, as well as engaging in the diverse community at Mac.

What has your experience at Macalester meant to you so far?
Working and learning alongside a diverse group of people in the classroom and on the field has helped me grow as a student, an athlete, and most importantly, a human being.

How has your experience as a student-athlete at Macalester helped shape you as an individual?
Working as part of such a close-knit group of teammates has shaped my perspective and approach to all aspects of life. My teammates have taught me so much about how to carry myself because being a student-athlete means you represent something much larger than just yourself. Thus, the way I treat my work, whether that's in the classroom or on the field, or how I treat the MAC community is a reflection of both myself, but also the soccer and athletic program as a whole. Therefore, my experience has shaped how I approach life and I want to present my best, and the team's best, to everyone.

How has your experience as a student-athlete at Macalester prepared you for life after graduation?
Being a student-athlete has provided me some valuable experiences that I can take with me in my post-graduate life. The most important thing I’ve learned is time management skills. Being able to balance schoolwork, while also performing on the field can translate to a high-paced, positive work environment. Additionally, working in a team environment has taught me important leadership skills. Conversely, it has allowed me to push myself individually to perform to the best of my ability on and off the field. Lastly, I think I will be able to leverage the ability to help lead and manage a diverse group of personalities.
