Macalester College Athletics

Why I chose Macalester:
I chose to attend Macalester for many reasons. Mac's strong academic reputation and soccer program were some of the first things that attracted me. Being from St. Paul, I felt safe going to a school in a neighborhood close by where if something happened to me I would not be far from home. When I considered all of these factors I knew Macalester was the right place for me.

What Macalester has meant to me:
My first year at Macalester and on the soccer team has been one of the busiest, most entertaining times of my life. Living and training with such a great group of guys for three weeks before classes started really facilitated my transition to college life. I already had friends before classes started, so there were no awkward feelings of being lonely or unsure. The soccer season last year was nothing short of successful. I had a great time, and we won most of our games. I am looking forward to continuing the great times (and record) we had last year on the team to this upcoming season.

How Macalester Soccer has shaped me as an individual:
Being a student-athlete at Mac has presented me with many challenges, both academically and physically.  The encouragement from my teammates has pushed me to train harder than I ever have.  Student athletes are frequently presented with time constraints such as away games and practices.  I've learned to better manage my study as well as free time with time spent training and competing .
