Macalester College Athletics

Why I chose Macalester:
I chose Macalester because it seemed like such a good fit during my campus visit. The small student body means you can form a tight knit community while the location in the twin cities means there are opportunities well beyond what you would expect a small school to have. More importantly, the strong academics, small class sizes, and focus on internationalism made Mac exactly the type of school I was looking for.

What Macalester has meant to me:
Mac has been a wonderful experience for me so far. I have met so many interesting and amazing people here each doing something impressive with their lives. The breadth of options here can be intimidating, but there are enough inspiring people everywhere it is difficult not to find yourself involved in something worthwhile. On top of that, each of my classes has been valuable, small, and taught by a learned professor who genuinely cared about my learning. Together these traits create an energy on campus perfect for the growth I had hoped for in my college years.

How Macalester Soccer has shaped me as an individual:
Beyond just being a student at Mac, being an athlete as well has helped shape my time here. It has given me access to a tight knit community and given me an outlet from the rigors of such a challenging academic environment. My time as a student athlete here has improved my athletic ability as well as allowing me to grow socially and mentally. The Macalester environment has been extremely nurturing and important for me and has made me a better teammate, soccer player, student and person.
