Macalester College Athletics

Why I chose Macalester:
I chose Macalester because I wanted a school where I knew I would be challenged. The location was also very important. The school is in a great city and for me was an ideal distance from home. When I visited I found an atmosphere I enjoyed and I knew that I wanted to go to Mac. In addition to this, I had the opportunity to play soccer. Overall, I believe Macalester is a place where I can succeed.

What Macalester has meant to me:
My experience at Mac so far has been nothing short of incredible. Coming in I did not know exactly what to expect from a small liberal arts school, one year later I have come to know it as a great place with an easy going atmosphere as well as a place where academics are highly valued. In addition, my time with the men's soccer team has made my time even more enjoyable. I cannot imagine being at another school at this point in time.

Macalester through my Junior Year:
I chose Macalester College because it was a challenging school and it was a place where I could continue playing soccer. After two years completed I could not be happier with my choice. My time with the soccer team has been excellent. Being a part of the MIAC championship team last year was an incredible experience, as well as the NCAA tournament. This year I look forward to hopefully winning another MIAC Championship, as well as advancing deeper into the NCAA tournament. My off the field experience has been great as well. I recently completed a research program and look forward to completing and publishing the work. With all of this happening in the first half of my time at Macalester, I cannot wait to see how the second half unfolds.

How Macalester Soccer has prepared me for life after graduation:
My time has a student-athlete at Macalester has taught me how to multitask and manage my time.  During the sports season I am constantly juggling soccer practices and games with homework, doing so means that I have to be extremely efficient with my time.  This is a skill that will serve me well post-Macalester.
