Macalester College Athletics

Why I chose Macalester:
Macalester College was exactly what I was looking for in a school. It is a small liberal arts school located in the heart of a great city, it is a very prestigious academic school, and the campus seemed to have a great community feel when I visited. I looked at hundreds of schools and in my mind none of them stood out like Macalester. Another reason I came to Macalester is the fact that I felt that coming here would give me the best chance after I graduated. The internship opportunities and international relationships I will build at Macalester will be extremely advantageous for me after my four years here.

What Macalester has meant to me:
This year I can’t wait to get back in front of the crowd that comes out and supports us at our games and hopefully build upon the success we had last year. The memories of last season from the games, to the people I met will be with me forever. I can’t wait to help my team defend our title as intramural basketball champion and I hope to help us improve upon our second place performance in dodgeball. This year will be exciting as I declare my major and continue the relationships I made with professors from last year. Macalester has been, and looks to be everything I had hoped it would be and I am looking forward to the next three years.

How Macalester Soccer has shaped me as an individual:
Being a student-athlete here at Macalester College has been one of the best choices I have ever made.  Of course it has helped make me a better team player and improved my time management skills, but it also led me to meet friends that I will have for my entire life.  The people I have met through this experience are what will shape me the most as an individual.
