Macalester College Athletics

Why I chose Macalester:
I wanted to attend a college where I would be constantly challenged academically and where I could find a strong sense of unity and cultural diversity. The location of Macalester was also a big factor as it is located minutes away from two big cities. Finally having the opportunity to play soccer in one of the strongest programs in the M.I.A.C made Macalester the best possible choice for me.

What Macalester has meant to me:
After my first year at Macalester I know that I made the right decision. The diverse student body gave me the opportunity to keep interacting with individuals from all over the world and learn about different cultures first hand. Furthermore, I could not have anticipated the care and dedication that professors took in helping one achieve academically. Finally Ian Barker and his “muppets” have given me the opportunity to keep playing soccer at a competitive level. Overall my experience here at Macalester has been outstanding and I am looking forward to the next three years.

How Macalester soccer has shaped me as an individual:
After two years of being a student-athlete I have learned to manage time and academics more responsibly as well as the athletic responsibility that program such as Macalester Soccer demands. Additionally, Macalester's dedicated teaching staff has helped developed my academic interests in both Economics and Statistics.
