Why did you choose to attend Macalester?
Mac has great academics and a super running program in the heart of an exciting urban environment.
What has your experience at Macalester meant to you so far?
I chose Macalester for innumerable reasons. I knew that I would be able to run for an awesome program and get an even more awesome education in the heart of an awesome metropolitan area. It's been awesome so far, to say the least.
How has your experience as a student-athlete at Macalester helped shape you as an individual?
Every time I lace up my Hoka One One Clifton 2 trainers, or my Brooks Mach 15 spikes, I think of one of my favorite quotes from Henry David Thoreau. He says, "Many men go fishing all of their lives without knowing that it is not fish they are after." It took me many years and many miles to realize that I do not run to chase faster times or improve my place in the conference. I run to find myself, my inner being, my very soul. Every step brings me closer to this Sisyphean goal.
