Oppland began his professional basketball career in the first league in Denmark and was a Danish League All-Star in 2006-07 for the Horsholm basketball club. He began the following season in Finland, playing for two different teams, Lahti and Korihait. Oppland then played for the Kaiserslautern Braves Basketball Club in the German second league. In 2008-09 he played in the German second league for Ehingen Basketball Club.
“I am thrilled to have such an accomplished player on my coaching staff," says Coach Whittle. “Mike has a tremendous basketball mind to complement his energetic personality. His passion will permeate all he does both on and off the floor. Having known each other for more than seven years, we are excited about starting this journey at Macalester together.”
