    Assistant Men's Basketball Coach
Bridge Tusler joined the Macalester men's basketball coaching staff as an assistant coach in the fall of 2021 after spending two seasons as the head boys basketball coach at Monticello High School. In his last year there, Tusler led Monticello to the 2021 3A state tournament. 

"Bridge is a home run hire for us at Macalester," head coach Abe Woldeslassie '08 said. "He has great experience, knows the MIAC well, is a terrific teacher, and will make our team stronger. We are grateful that he chose Mac and we are excited for the season ahead." 

Tusler graduated from Bethel University in 2018. He spent his freshman year at South Dakota State and was a member of the football team before transferring to Bethel. At Bethel, Tusler was a member of the basketball and football teams for four seasons. He was a four-year starter on the basketball team and helped the Royals win the 2016-17 MIAC championship. He also earned MIAC All-Rookie honors, was a three-time All-MIAC selection and was named to the MIAC All-Defensive team. 

Tusler graduated from Osseo High School in 2013. He was the starting point guard on the 2012 Class 4A state championship team. In football, Tusler was named the AP Player of the Year and Metro Player of the Year, and was chosen Mr. Football in 2012. He is married to Angie (Davison) Tusler, who played Division I basketball at Northern Iowa and is the head varsity girls basketball coach at The Blake School.
