Scott Hintz joined the Macalester Athletics staff in July of 2017 as Head of Sports Performance and Deno Fitness Center Manager. Hintz is responsible for the athletic development of the Scots’ 21 intercollegiate athletic programs.
Hintz brings a wealth of strength and conditioning experience at all levels to Macalester. Most recently, he has served as the director of strength and conditioning at Catalyst Sports Medicine in Hudson, Wis. since 2011, while also designing the strength and conditioning programs at three high schools. In addition to his work at Catalyst, Hintz was a volunteer strength coach at several Division I institutions, including the University of Minnesota, the University of Alabama and the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay. He also interned at Marquette University and the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh.
Hintz has a Bachelor’s degree in exercise science and health promotion from UW-Oshkosh. He also holds certifications from the Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Coaches Association (CSCCA) and the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA).
