Leul Lemma joined the Macalester Athletic Training staff as an Assistant Athletic Trainer in July of 2024. He is contracted through Allina Health Orthopedics to cover Macalester athletics as well as Allina Health Orthopedic clinics. Prior to Macalester and Allina, Leul had worked for the Los Angeles Rams as an athletic training summer intern, serving as a member of the Rams’ sports medicine staff for the 2023 training camp and preseason games.
Leul graduated from The College of Saint Scholastica with his Bachelor’s of Arts in Health Sciences in 2022, and Master’s of Science in Athletic Training in 2023. While at CSS, Leul played football for his freshman and sophomore year, and transitioned into being a Resident Assistant for his junior and senior year. Leul was a member of numerous clubs on campus, including United for Africa, Black Student Union, and also served as the Secretary for the Minnesota Athletic Trainers Association in Fall of 2022.
Leul is originally from Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, but has been living in Saint Paul, Minnesota since moving in 2014. His primary sport coverage at Macalester includes football and club sports.
