Zach Johnston is in his ninth year as an assistant on the Macalester staff and will coach the linebackers. Previously, Johnston coached in Wayzata and was the linebackers coach for Bloomington Jefferson High School for four years. Johnston, originally from Bloomington, Minnesota, was an All-State linebacker at Bloomington Jefferson. Following graduation, Johnston went to the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse to further his football career. He was a part of three conference champion teams, the last as a student assistant coach.
“We are ecstatic to have Zach on our staff,” head coach Tony Jennison said. “Zach has great knowledge, energy, and passion for coaching and brings intensity to the practice field.”
