Mike Gulliford is in his third season as a member of the Macalester College football coaching staff. He will be working with the defensive line.
“Mike has really been an excellent member of our staff,” says head football coach Tony Jennison. “He is a tremendous defensive line coach who has a lot of great experiences in the coaching profession.”
Prior to joining the Macalester staff, Gulliford was special teams coordinator for three seasons at De La Salle High School, in Minneapolis. In 2007, Gulliford helped De La Salle to the state championship finals in Class 3-A. Gulliford brings a wealth of experience to the Macalester coaching staff. He has had stints coaching at Carthage College (Wis.), Indiana State University, Western State (Colo.), UW-Eau Claire, and in 1997 and 1998, as assistant coach at Macalester College.
The Chicago, Illinois, native earned a bachelor's degree in education from Augustana College (Ill.) in 1995, where he lettered four seasons as a defensive lineman. Gulliford earned his master's degree in Math Education from the Univerisity of Wisconsin-Eau Claire in 2000.
Gulliford and his wife, Deanna, have a three year old son Max and two year old son Carson.
