Lee Nystrom is back for his ninth season on the current Macalester football staff and his 17th season overall. Nystrom was the defensive line coach for the Scots from 1976-1984 and is a Macalester College alumnus, class of 1973.

As a four-year starter at Macalester, Nystrom was team MVP in 1972, in addition to being an All-MIAC selection and a pre-season All-American. He was inducted into the Macalester Athletics Hall of Fame in 1986. Nystrom played professional football for the Green Bay Packers from 1973 to 1975, and is a former Chairman of the Board of the NFL Alumni Association.

Nystrom is a former member of the Macalester College Board of Trustees and chaired the fund raising committee to build the Leonard Center athletic facility. He also serves as a board member of the We Believe Foundation and the Sage Hill Advisory and Management Group. Nystrom is currently the president of his own company and partners with other firms across the country to provide corporations with various financial instruments and services.

Lee and his wife, Gail, reside in Minnetonka. They have one daughter, Ali (Macalester Class of 2010).
