Jason Holt joined the Macalester coaching staff in the spring of 2026 as a senior advisor. He will be coaching the pursuit, effort and demeanor of the players in practices and games.
Holt started his coaching career as the head coach of the United States All-Marine Team from 1994-2000. He also served as an assistant football coach at Saddleback College in Mission Viejo, Calif., the University of Nebraska-Omaha, Upper Iowa University and the University of Northern Iowa, mostly focusing on the defensive side of the ball. After two seasons as an assistant coach for the Arkansas Twisters of Arena Football 2, Holt left coaching in 2009 to work in finance. He got back into coaching in 2023, working with Osseo High School for two seasons as an assistant.
Holt attended San Diego State University and was a safety on the football team. He earned his degree in Human Cultural Development at Northern Iowa.
