Dion Wiggins joins the Macalester coaching staff this fall and will coach the running backs. Wiggins was the quarterbacks/wide receivers coach and the co-offensive coordinator for the passing game from 2002-12 at Apple Valley High School, where he taught Special Education Math. He also spent two years coaching tight ends and running backs at the University of Minnesota-Duluth from 2001-02. More recently, Wiggins was the running backs coach/co-special teams coordinator at Methodist University in Fayetteville, N.C., in 2016.

A native of Ardmore, Okla., and an Ardmore High graduate, Wiggins was a two-year starter and a three-year letterman at Missouri State University. In 1999 he was invited as a free agent to work out for the Dallas Cowboys and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Wiggins currently teaches at a public charter school in North Minneapolis as a Special Education Teacher. He lives in Greenfield, Minn., with his fiancee Stacey, who has four daughters - Peyton (21), Jade (19), Avery (18) and Ashlyn (15), and his four boys - Trey (20), Tristin (19), Trevon (15), and Tavian (9).
