David Hout joins the Macalester football staff as the Scots' outside linebackers coach. Hout begins his coaching career after playing at Briar Cliff University in Sioux City, Iowa, where he was a linebacker and safety. He also played safety for one year at Missouri Western State. After graduation, Hout played for the Sioux City Bandits of the Indoor Football League for one season and spent two years with the Iowa City Ducks Rugby Football Club.
Hout graduated from Briar Cliff in 2014 with a degree in English and Creative Writing. Currently, he is pursuing a Master's degree in Creative Writing at Hamline University.
