Christian Rund joined the Scots’ coaching staff in January of 2021 and will serve as the wide receivers coach. Rund comes to Macalester from South St. Paul High School, where he served as the wide receivers coach and passing-game coordinator for the past two seasons. While coaching receivers at South St. Paul, he was the position coach for the team offensive MVP in 2018 and 2019 as well as multiple all-conference selections. Rund was also an assistant strength and conditioning coach for the past five years.
Prior to beginning his coaching career at his alma mater high school, Rund completed his bachelor’s degree in secondary education at The College of St. Scholastica, where he was a two-year starting wide receiver. Currently, Rund is pursuing his Master’s in Education degree from St. Scholastica.
Rund, a native of South St. Paul, currently teaches social studies at South St. Paul High School and resides in Eagan.
