After working with the Macalester football program on the defensive side of the ball during its spring practices, Brad Bogard has been promoted to work with the team’s fullbacks and tight ends for the 2009 football season.
“It was very evident after meeting Brad for the first time that he really has a passion for football,” said Macalester head football coach Tony Jennison. “That is one of the traits I look for, not only in our players but coaches as well. After getting to know Brad further, I learned that he was a tremendous young man with a great work ethic and I knew he would be a great fit here at MAC. Brad has a bright future in the coaching profession.”
His interest in coaching, experiences in athletic training, and zeal for the game lead him to Macalester College. “I loved Coach Jennison’s passion for football and commitment to build something really special at Macalester,” Bogard said. “Coach Jennison has assembled a high quality coaching staff and we all are really excited about our team’s potential for the upcoming season.”
Bogard, originally from Brookfield, Wisconsin served as a captain of his varsity football team playing on both sides of the ball. He will graduate this spring with a degree in finance and history from the University of Minnesota.
