Andy Allison will be entering his eighth year of coaching, and first season with Macalester College in 2018. He will coach the Scots’ wide receivers.
Prior to joining the coaching staff at Macalester, Allison was the wide receivers coach and video coordinator for Truman State University in 2017. At Truman State, Allison led a very young wide receiving corps that featured an All-GLVC senior receiver.
Allison spent the 2015 and 2016 seasons as the wide receivers coach for Bemidji State University. During Allison’s tenure the Beavers were among the top five in the country in points per game and offensive efficiency. Allison also has a NSIC Conference championship under his belt as the Bemidji State Beavers were co-champions of the Northern Sun in 2015 and later capped off the 2016 season with an 8-3 record and a Mineral Water Bowl title. Allison’s top All-Conference receiver, Blake Holder, recently signed a free agent contract to play wide receiver for the San Francisco 49ers in 2018. Allison also spent the 2013 and 2014 seasons as the defensive backs coach with St. Olaf and UW-River Falls.
Allison played wide receiver and defensive back for the University of Minnesota. Following his collegiate career he spent several years playing amateur semi-pro football for various teams from Minnesota and Wisconsin.
Allison earned his Bachelor of Science in Family Social Science from the University of Minnesota in 2011 and completed his Master of Arts & Teaching from Bemidji State University in 2017. He lives in St. Paul with his fiancée Carynn and their dog Zoey.
