Why did you choose to attend Macalester?
When I visited Macalester I just knew it was the perfect fit for me. The diversity and emphasis on internationalism brought it to the top of my list, let alone that it is one of the top academic institutions in the country. The chance to play for a great team and excellent coaching staff in the sport I love sealed the deal.

What has your experience at Macalester meant to you so far?
My first year at Macalester left me wanting summer to end sooner rather than later for the first time in my life so I could get back. The combination of great classes, new friends, football, and the overall atmosphere at Macalester has me excited for what's to come in the next three years.

How has your experience as a student-athlete at Macalester helped shape you as an individual?
Along with the normal academic course load, being a student-athlete at Macalester has forced me to become more organized with my time and has improved my work ethic. It has brought me into more contact with students, faculty, coaches, and people I would not otherwise have met if it were not for being a student-athlete. Although free time is scarce during the season, being a student-athlete at Macalester has made me a more motivated and committed person to pursuing academics, making friends, and playing football.

How has your experience as a student-athlete at Macalester prepared you for life after graduation?
Being a student athlete at Macalester has prepared me for life after college with a strong work ethic and the organizational skills that are necessary to be successful in anything you do in life.
