Earned first collegiate victory vs. Hamline (5/4/14) only giving up 1 earned run and striking out 7 in 8+ innings … Overcame early season injuries to finish 2nd on the team in games started (6) and 3rd in innings pitched (29 2/3) … Was 8th out of all MIAC pitchers in strikeouts per nine innings (7.76) during conference play … Was voted Most Improved Player on the team

Had seven appearances on the season and ranked third on the staff in starts (5) ... First collegiate appearance came in start vs. North Central (3/13/13).
2012
Made first appearance as pinch runner on 3/9/12 vs. Coe College … an injury limited his on field impact.
Why did you choose to attend Macalester?
In addition to Macalester being a great academic school, I chose to attend Macalester because of its location and diversity. I wanted to be in a suburban setting with easy access to a dynamic urban area. At Macalester you get the best of both worlds. My high school was very diverse and I really appreciated it. I wanted diversity to be part of my college experience as well.
What has your experience at Macalester meant to you so far?
Starting when I began my time here three falls ago, Macalester has grown to possess a large place in my heart. The multitude of opportunities and environments that were and continue to be put in front of me have been a catalyst for my maturation and development as a citizen of the world. Looking back at all the wonderful times I've had, friends I've made, and challenges I've gone through brings a genuine smile to my face. I look forward to cherishing my remaining time here and the new experiences it will bring.
How has your experience as a student-athlete at Macalester helped shape you as an individual?
I've had a very rich experience during my time as a student-athlete at Macalester. I will always be grateful that I had the privilege to be a part of a team driving towards a shared goal during my four years at Mac. The friendships I have built with my current/former teammates have had an immense impact on me as an individual. As an underclassman I always had older guys to look up to, to learn something from, and now as a senior I have the chance to be a role model for some of my younger teammates. The comradery I share with my teammates has been one of my favorite aspects of being a student-athlete and has helped shaped me into who I am today.
How has your experience as a student-athlete at Macalester prepared you for life after graduation?
Baseball tends to be a game of failure more often than we’d like and to be successful you have to learn from your mistakes while moving on to the next pitch with a positive attitude. Throughout my baseball career I have worked on the mental part of the game, but at the collegiate level this becomes even more important due to the level of competition. I believe the ability to pick myself up after a bad game and to persevere no matter what adversity comes my way will serve me very well during my life after graduation.
