Why did you choose to attend Macalester?
I chose Macalester because for me it was the best of both worlds. I attend an outstanding academic institution where professors really care about the individual student's success and also get to play the sport I love with an amazing group of guys. When I visited Macalester for the first time, I was immediately sold. With the facilities at the Leonard Center and the atmosphere around campus I knew I would call Macalester my school. Also, Coach Parrington is by far the best coach that I have ever known. He is not only a great coach, but really gets the whole picture and promotes being a good teammate and developing life skills alongside of baseball.

What has your experience at Macalester meant to you so far?
I have met so many amazing people during my time at Macalester so far. From professors that have traveled the world to study what they love, to students that come from another country, the amount of world knowledge that exists at Macalester is incredible. The amazing part about Macalester is that everyone has the team first mentality. From teachers to teammates, everyone is very supportive of one another both on and off the field and in and out of the classroom. I could not be happier with my decision to come to Macalester.

How has your experience as a student-athlete at Macalester helped shape you as an individual?
Being not only a student athlete, but a bio major who wants to go on to dental school takes a considerable amount of time. When I'm not in the classroom or on the field, I am studying in the library or on my way to my next meeting. Life as a student athlete has taught me discipline, organization, and how to have fun while working hard at the same time. It has guided me into being a more well-balanced person, with guidance and support from both my coaches and professors. The athletic community is very close at Macalester. There is a ton of camaraderie among the student athlete community and the respect every athlete has not only for their program, but the athletic community and school in general is amazing.
