Mike Merrill is a 2005 Macalester College graduate and has spent nine years on the coaching staff. His versatility allows him to work with a variety of positions on the defensive side, in addition to working with our hitters.

During his playing days at Macalester, Merrill earned all-conference honors three times, was voted team offensive MVP in 2003, defensive MVP in 2005, and served as team captain his senior year before earning his Bachelor of Arts degree in Geography. In 2016, he earned his Master's degree in Sport Management from Concordia University-St. Paul.

Merrill spent one year on the Gustavus Adolphus College coaching staff and served as the recruiting coordinator and an assistant coach, working with the catchers and outfielders as well as running the JV program.

Merrill currently resides in St. Louis Park, Minn., with his wife Erin and daughter Tessa. He works full-time as a direct sales specialist at WEX Health.
