Chris Peterson joined the Macalester baseball coaching staff in the fall of 2021 and began coaching the catchers in the fall of 2024. He brings over 30 years of coaching experience at the high school, legion and club levels to the Scots. Most recently, Peterson was the head coach at Richfield High School from 2013 to 2021. He also was the head coach at Hopkins High School and coached the American Legion teams in Burnsville and Hopkins. Currently, Peterson serves as the athletic director at Richfield High School.
Peterson graduated from St. Cloud State with Bachelor's degrees in Political Science and Secondary Social Studies Teaching. He earned a Master's in Education degree from Saint Mary's University (Minn.) in 2012.
A native of Burnsville, Peterson lives in Minneapolis with his wife, Cheryl and their three children.
