Why did you choose to attend Macalester?
I decided on Macalester because it has everything I was looking for: it has a small, tight-knit community, it is located right next to a big city, and it offers a great education that will prepare me to enter the world upon graduation.

What has your experience at Macalester meant to you so far?
Macalester has offered me the opportunity to experience college in a way that many others cannot: I am able to play baseball and study in a rigorous and competitive academic environment. The people I've met already have challenged me socially and intellectually and my teammates constantly push me to achieve more on and off the field. Macalester has proven to be a great home for me and I expect that to continue throughout my tenure here.

How has your experience as a student-athlete at Macalester helped shape you as an individual?
Macalester baseball has given me the opportunity to grow not just as an athlete, but as a student and as an individual. Most importantly, I have been able to form strong friendships and learn the importance of a team-first mentality. Putting the interests of your peers before your own is a quality that I believe transcends sports and I am very grateful to Macalester and the baseball coaching staff for teaching me this particular skill and allowing me to grow both on and off the baseball field.

How has your experience as a student-athlete at Macalester prepared you for life after graduation?
Playing baseball in college has granted me the invaluable opportunity to enhance my work ethic and leadership skills. Perhaps more importantly, Macalester baseball unifies its players in a strong brotherhood that has taught me how to work in a team, what it means to be a good teammate, and how to achieve a goal.
