Leonard Center - Membership Information

MEMBERSHIP INFORMATION

All Leonard Center members are required to complete a Membership Application Form online through Marketplace. Online application and payment is now accepted and the primary method.  All members must be approved by the Leonard Center staff prior to activation of an ID card or obtaining a new ID card. When completing the application online, you will receive an email confirmation of your request and then another email confirmation that your membership has been processed.  Membership cards will be mailed to the address provided on the Marketplace form for alumni and community memberships.  Allow 2 weeks for membership to arrive following the procession confirmation email. Employee Plus 1 and Dependent member cards will be delivered campus mail to the sponsoring staff member.

MEMBERSHIP OPTIONS

Alumni Membership - Alumni Memberships to the Leonard Center will be available for use beginning June 1, 2023

Macalester College Alumni are eligible to purchase a membership to the Leonard Center. Alumni memberships are available on an annual basis (June 1 - May 31) or a half-year membership (December 1 - May 31).  Cost of the membership will be $500.00 for full-year and $300.00 for half year.  A new Macalester College ID card will be required for members.  A $25.00 charge will be added to the membership fee for the new card.  Alumni members must be able to provide proof of completion of Macalester College degree before membership will be processed. A limit of 100 annual alumni memberships will be sold.  If the 100 annual memberships are sold, half year memberships will not be available for purchase. Alumni memberships may be purchased using the Marketplace link.

Community Membership 

The link for Community Membership renewals will be sent to current members in the beginning of April. The link for new memberships will be posted on the High Winds Fund Website and go live on April 30, 2024 at 8:00am. Please check the website for eligibility, requirements and FAQs prior to the registration date. 

Employee Plus 1 Membership

Full-time Macalester Faculty or Staff College (including full-time contract employees) are eligible to sponsor ONE (1) member guest to the Leonard Center free of charge.   Plus one memberships are valid from the date the identification card is obtained through May 31. Plus 1 members are automatically renewed on an annual basis unless instructed otherwise by sponsoring staff member.

As a part of the Reopening of the Leonard Center, all Employee Plus 1 will need a NEW Macalester ID card created. A fee of $5 card is charged to offset the cost of the new ID card.  Review the Employee Plus 1 Membership Registration link below for the details of how to obtain a NEW Macalester ID card.  Upon confirmation of availability, ID cards will be send campus mail to the sponsoring staff member.

Employee Dependent(s) Membership

Full-time Macalester Faculty/Staff of the college (including full-time contract employees) are eligible to sponsor their dependent members 14-26 years of age as members of the Leonard Center, in addition to their Employee Plus One member. Dependent(s) under the age of 14 are allowed access to the Leonard Center with their parent/guardian only and they do not need an ID card.   Employee dependent memberships are valid from the date the identification card is obtained through May 31. All Dependent(s) memberships are valid from the date the identification card is obtained through May 31. Plus 1 members are automatically renewed on an annual basis until the dependent reaches 26 years of age, unless instructed otherwise by sponsoring staff member. Dependent members must follow all established policies and procedures for the building including, but not limited to, mandatory adult supervision at all times if the dependent is younger than 14 years of age or freshman in high school.

Daily Guest Pass

Leonard Center members may sponsor one (1) individual on a daily basis, with a limit of 1 time per month. The guest must complete a liability waiver form and be approved by the Assistant Director of Athletics - Facilities or the Assistant Facilities Director . The Leonard Center member must accompany the sponsored guest while using the facility. The Daily Guest Pass is designed for a one-time usage in a visiting circumstance or other special-type occasion.  It is not intended for daily use or to act as a secondary membership to a Leonard Center member.

Temporary Family Pass

Current students, faculty and staff may sponsor visiting direct family members for a temporary membership free of charge by contacting the Assistant Director of Athletics - Facilities or the Assistant Facilities Director at least one week in advance. The pass must be issued and approved by Leonard Center staff and will be issued for a maximum of no more than three (3) consecutive days.
