Why did you choose to attend Macalester?

I chose Macalester because of its mission as a small liberal arts school as well as its location. I wanted to leave New York City and when I visited campus I knew right away that it was the perfect place for me.

What has your experience at Macalester meant to you so far?

My first year at Macalester was very meaningful because it allowed me to discover what my interests were in the classroom, and allowed me to learn about global and societal issues that I otherwise would not have been exposed to. I am excited to start my sophomore year and declare my major in Environmental Studies.

How has your experience as a student-athlete at Macalester helped shape you as an individual?

Being a student-athlete at Macalester has boosted my confidence and has taught me how to balance my responsibilities to my team as well as my education. The women's cross country team is a space for empowerment and has shaped me into a stronger person. I am grateful to be surrounded by women who inspire me every day.

How has your experience as a student-athlete at Macalester prepared you for life after graduation?

My experience as a member of the Women's Cross Country team has taught me the importance of collective action and dedication and I plan to take those values with me wherever I go. While life after graduation will be uncharted territory, I know that my experiences with this team of strong women will prepare me for whatever challenges I meet in the future.
