What has your experience at Macalester meant to you so far?
I have had an enlightening experience learning to appreciate a wider variety of academic fields, while also having the opportunity to continue running. The balance between academics and athletics is refreshing, and has helped me continue to enjoy pursuing future challenges. Macalester is unique in its social values and academic requirements, both which I have enjoyed learning more about and believe have helped me in professional settings.
 
How has your experience as a student-athlete at Macalester prepared you for life after graduation?
Attending a college where I have had the opportunity to create strong personal relationships with professors, athletic coaches, and other faculty has greatly helped in my ability to discover opportunities to gain experience/exposure in my field of interest. Learning to organize my studies to fit into a tight athletic schedule has been beneficial in understanding how to stay focused, and work efficiently. Running distance is both physically and mentally taxing, and training to push through fatigue to accomplish tasks has been a great challenge. Additionally, training and studying with the great group of driven people that are part of Mac Athletics has exponentially increased the quality of my time here.
