Why did you choose to attend Macalester?
I chose Macalester because I knew that I would be able to get a world class education while still being able to play football at a competitive collegiate level.
How has your experience as a student-athlete at Macalester prepared you for life after graduation?
My experience as a student-athlete at Macalester has prepared me for life after graduation by teaching me a number of key transferable skills: perseverance, collaboration, compromise, passion, and dedication, and others. Being on the football team, thereby learning to work with a team, and being a member of the track and field team, competing more individually, I have learned how to motivate and apply myself in both settings, a skill that will undoubtedly serve me for the rest of my life. Most importantly, I have learned the importance of responding to adversity when it arises. All in all, I am confident that my time as a student-athlete at Macalester has prepared me for anything that life will throw at me.
