What I hope to do after graduation:
After graduation I will be taking a year off to work full time as a lead tutor for AVID and begin the application process for Master's/Ph.D programs in Social Work.

How Macalester has prepared me:
Macalester has prepared me in many ways to enter the vast field of social work from the amazing education to learning the value of strong community, but I think the most important lesson I've learned is to be me. Finding out who you are and what you want to be and being okay with that is more valuable than any trade. In order to make any meaningful change, big or small, you have to be all of yourself, flaws and all!

Involvements outside of athletics:
During the school year: club volleyball, intramural dodgeball and basketball, tutor for the AVID program, Little Scots.

During the summer: Volunteer at Relief Nursery in Eugene, OR which is a child abuse and neglect prevention agency. I work as an assistant teacher with the therapeutic classrooms with the kids as well as do some administration and development work.
