Why I chose Macalester:
I felt Macalester was the right school for me based on where the campus is located, the soccer team, and the academics. The campus is in a beautiful area of St. Paul with so much to do, and with all the stores being a short walk away. I wanted to get the most out of my college experience academically, and Macalester provides a challenge yet allows the students to succeed in the classroom. Being a liberal arts college, I could get a great education in just about any field I wished to pursue. The soccer team was also a major part of my decision to attend this school. Coach Barker is very experienced at his position and knows his players well. The atmosphere at practices and games is unlike any other. Practices are intense and the games are often filled with students in the stands to support the team. I hope to be a part of and continue the winning tradition at Macalester.

What Macalester has meant to me:
Macalester is one of the best schools in the country and I have had a great time here so far. The classes can be challenging but rewarding at the same time. I feel just as at home here as I do in my hometown, Des Moines. I'm looking forward to the soccer season and another fun year at Mac.
