What has your experience at Macalester meant to you so far?
My first-year experience at Macalester has allowed me to reflect on my own identity as a woman of color who grew up in America. I found comfort among others who shared similar background and questions about being true to oneself. I also left my parents' side for the first time and learned to take care of myself both physically and emotionally. I took advantage of my friends' support and we help each other. I grew as a person and saw the first glimpse of what adulting is.

How has your experience as a student-athlete at Macalester helped shape you as an individual?
As a student-athlete, I was forced to time manage and get my work done in the limited time between classes or after practice. Not only that, I've developed patience towards getting results, patience towards working well with others, and patience with myself. Sharing novel perspectives with teammates, disagreeing with coaches, and concerns for myself all helped me mature along with other positive experiences that have given me hope, pride, and joy.

How has your experience as a student-athlete at Macalester prepared you for life after graduation?
Being a student-athlete has taught me to be patient, persistent, and learn to rely on teammates and coaches at times; being a student-athlete at Macalester has opened up many connections and network of other student-athletes like myself that I can rely on whether it be during my job hunt, when looking for a roommate, discussing my interests in sports, academics, and everything else.
