Biography

Honors:
MIAC Academic All-Conference - Fall 2009, Fall 2010

Why I chose Macalester:

“I wanted to attend a liberal arts school with great academics, and I also wanted to stay close to home. Macalester was at the top of the list of schools that satisfied those first two main criteria. I also loved the people and friendly atmosphere on campus. Macalester's soccer program was an added bonus. Their reputation and fan support is unlike any other at the Division III level.”

WHat Macalester has meant to me:
"The feeling of being back out on the soccer field with all of my teammates accurately reflects what Macalester has meant to me thus far. I have always found comfort on the field. It is my home; and now, Macalester is too. Different players and styles of play are like all of the diverse students and cultures at Mac. There are difficult opponents on the field, and there are difficult classes off it. I’ve picked up nicks and bruises and strained muscles, as I’ve lost sleep struggling over papers and problem sets. All of these things have helped build character, and I’ve found many great people to share these experiences with. I look forward to my remaining years at Macalester with my head high, because if they are anything like my first one, I will be a happy man."

Macalester through Junior Year:
"I felt Macalester was the right school for me based on where the campus is located, the soccer team, and the academics. The campus is in a beautiful area of St. Paul with so much to do, and with all the stores being a short walk away. I wanted to get the most out of my college experience academically, and Macalester provides a challenge yet allows the students to succeed in the classroom. Being a liberal arts college, I could get a great education in just about any field I wished to pursue. The soccer team was also a major part of my decision to attend this school. Coach Barker is very experienced at his position and knows his players well. The atmosphere at practices and games is unlike any other. Practices are intense and the games are often filled with students in the stands to support the team. I hope to be a part of and continue the winning tradition at Macalester."

How Macalester Soccer has prepared me for life after graduation:
As an athlete, I have become mentally tougher and I feel prepared for the challenges that life will throw at me.  As a student-athlete, I learned to manage my time and create a working balance between academics and sport.
