Why I chose Macalester:
There are numerous reasons why I decided to attend Macalester College. First and foremost, it allows me to combine soccer, a sport I love, with excellent academic opportunities. I believe Macalester's diverse student body and strong liberal arts program will offer me a great college experience. I also love the location in St. Paul, Minnesota; it's not too far away from home, but far enough.
What Macalester has meant to me:
When I think about my experience at Mac so far only positive things come to mind. The level of cohesion amongst the players, the high quality coaching and massive support from the student body combine to create the best soccer experience that I have ever had. Not to mention the whole school aspect, which is also good- small class sizes, and engaged professors.
Macalester through Junior Year:
My experiences thus far at Macalester have been wonderful. I am looking forward to a competitive season this year as we build on last year’s success. It feels good to be on a team where everyone is working hard not only for themselves, but also for each other. Since I’ve been on this team I have seen our program collectively building in confidence and skill, and I’m excited to see that continue. I am also looking forward to the school year starting. I’m in the process of searching for study abroad programs for second semester. I am grateful to be at a school that encourages diverse opportunities and experiences.
How Macalester Soccer has shaped me as an individual:
As a student-athlete at Macalester I have gained confidence and been challenged to be more creative than ever before. I believe that my experience here has given me the tools to be successful regardless of the path that I choose.
