Why did you choose to attend Macalester?
I chose Macalester because athletically it has a Division I feel, but academically it is one of the best schools in the nation. Plus, being located between two major cities, it provides many opportunities you wouldn't find in a more rural campus.

How has your experience as a student-athlete at Macalester helped shape you as an individual?
I think it’s taught me to get back up when things aren’t going my way. School here is hard; soccer here is hard; life here is hard. When one of those things doesn’t go as planned, being able to stay on track with the others has been something I’ve had to learn the hard way. Not everything is going to go my way, but being able to take it on the chin and move on and overcome everything that’s thrown at you is something that Macalester has prepared me for.

How has your experience as a student-athlete at Macalester prepared you for life after graduation?
I think the ability to be close to our professors has been the biggest reason I will be prepared for life after grad. They are all super knowledgeable people who have lived the lives we have, and are the tops of their fields. The willingness of these professors to get to know each and every student allows for connections post-grad. Networking at Mac is easy because of this.
