Biography

As a Scot

Member of the Fresh Concepts Improv group… Studied abroad in France during the spring of 2019… Interned at the University of Washington's Early Childhood Cognition Lab.

 

2018
Named to the MIAC All-Academic team… Took 17th in the season-opening Macalester/St. Olaf 4k with a time of 17:55… Recorded her top time of the season at the Jim Drews/Tori Neubauer Invitational on Oct. 13, finishing in 24:04… Placed 6th in the St. Kate’s Invite 5k with a time of 20:21… Ran another 24-minute 6k at the Central Region Championships on Nov. 10.

2017
Named to the MIAC All-Academic team… Started the season with a 25:17 6k at the St. Olaf Invitational… Recorded a time of 24:58 a couple weeks later at the Carleton Running of the Cows 6k… Finished 11th at the St. Kate’s Invite, completing the 5k course in 19:51, which places her tied for 44th on Macalester’s Top 50 Honor Roll… Produced a PR at the Central Region Championships, finishing with a time of 23:47 which is tied for 29th on Macalester’s Top 50 Honor Roll.

Ran 16:22 in the St. Olaf time trial, a time making her 47th on the Macalester all-time 4,000 meter top 50 honor roll … Raced a time of 25:30 in her collegiate 6,000 meter debut at the St. Olaf Invitational … Ran a 6,000 meter PR at the Carleton Running of the Cows with a time of 25:03 … Raced a time of 20:00 in the 5,000 meter at the St. Kate’s Invitational … Voted Women’s Cross Country Rookie of the Year.

 

Before Mac

Served as track captain for Nathan Hale High … Voted Most Improved over her four-year career … Earned Honors and AP student recognition.

 

Why did you choose to attend Macalester?

For the option to run and be a part of an accepting team. Also for the emphasis on internationalism and ability to take a wide variety of interesting classes.

 

What has your experience at Macalester meant to you so far?

My first year at Mac has taught me that the type of community and people you surround yourself with makes all the difference. I was lucky enough to find a team and a group of friends that support me in every aspect of my life. Also, being able to study subjects that I am passionate about has shown me all of the different opportunities I never knew existed.


How has your experience as a student-athlete at Macalester prepared you for life after graduation?
My team has taught me how to be a healthy individual, on the race course, in the classroom and in all other areas of my life. I am confident that my life will continue to benefit from the leadership and personal skills I have gained as a part of this team.
