Why did you choose to attend Macalester?
I chose Macalester so that I could find a place that would give me the best opportunity to succeed later in life. I found that the balance of continuing sports with others who are just as enthusiastic as I am about football, paired with a rigorous liberal arts education would grant me with the tools necessary to succeed later on. The players on the team live as examples to what the coaching staff preaches about wanting excellent individuals, and it became clear to me that I wanted to be a part of this program for the total college experience.

What has your experience at Macalester meant to you so far?
Macalester is a place that has allowed me to challenge myself academically and athletically in a small, close-knit environment. I can tell that my coaches and professors care about me being successful, and the friends I have made here are invaluable to me.

How has your experience as a student-athlete at Macalester helped shape you as an individual?
Macalester has been an institution that has given me multiple outlets to be successful with hard work. I am challenged mentally and physically while being surrounded by great friends and teammates. The experience I have received so far at Macalester has positively shaped who I am today, and will equip me with the tools for who I will be tomorrow.

How has your experience as a student-athlete at Macalester prepared you for life after graduation?
Being a student-athlete at Macalester has provided an outlet for me to push myself in the classroom with challenging courses that always show me that I can dig deeper and do better to master the material as it progressively gets harder, as well as providing me with the opportunity to work as hard as I can in the weight room and on the field to push myself physically. Being a student-athlete has thus given me the chance to truly try my best in every area of my life, which is a skill I will certainly take with me from Macalester.
