Started all 10 games on the defensive line… Registered a team-best 3.5 sacks… Totaled 38 tackles to rank sixth on the team… Tallied a career-high eight tackles apiece at Carleton Sept. 2 and at UChicago Nov. 4… Earned a spot on the Midwest Conference Academic All-Conference team.

2016
Moved from linebacker to defensive lineman… Played in eight games… Recorded seven tackles, including six solo tackles.

Saw action in victories over Grinnell Sept. 26 and Knox Oct. 3.

Received the Iron Panther Award for dedication in the weight room at Seattle Prep… Member of the National Honors Society.

Why did you choose to attend Macalester?
I wanted to challenge myself academically and I wanted to have the opportunity to be a part of a football program that values hard work and dedication. Mac fit those criteria.

What has your experience at Macalester meant to you so far?
My Macalester experience has meant a lot to me and has truly been life changing in the one year I have been here. Being here has broadened my horizons and opened my eyes to a plethora of world views. While being here, I have also been able to develop relationships with a very diverse student body that features people who come from many different backgrounds than I do. I feel like because of what I have been exposed to at Mac and because of the relationships I have developed here, I have become an extremely well rounded person. This means the world to me.

How has your experience as a student-athlete at Macalester helped shape you as an individual?
My experience as a student-athlete at Mac has had a huge impact on me as a person. I have met some of the best people I have ever encountered. I have also learned a lot about how to handle adversity, and how to work with all different types of people. Choosing to take part in Macalester athletics has been one of the best decisions I have ever made.

How has your experience as a student-athlete at Macalester prepared you for life after graduation?
Being a student athlete at Macalester has really challenged me, both on and off the football field, which is something I have come to really appreciate. It has helped me to grow in many ways, both as a student, and as a person. Being a student athlete has taught me the values of working with other people towards a common goal, and it has taught me how to use my time well, which is a skill that will be extremely valuable going forward.
