ST. PAUL, Minn. – The Macalester College women's tennis team wrapped up its 2024-25 season with a MIAC dual at Hamline University, losing 6-3 Sunday afternoon at Holt Courts. The Scots finish the year 3-15 overall and 1-9 in conference play, while the Pipers improve to 13-8, 4-6 MIAC.

Macalester opened the dual with a win at No. 1 doubles by juniors Savannah Haugen (Bemidji, Minn./Bemidji) and Elizabeth Trevathan (St. Paul, Minn./St. Paul Academy) over Vanessa Pham and Cora Anderson, 8-6. Senior Megan Twomey (Minneapolis, Minn./Washburn) and junior Sedona Crosby (St. Paul, Minn./Highland Park) almost gave the Scots another point in doubles, losing at No. 2 doubles to Elanna Kohner and Christine Muller, 8-6.

In singles, Haugen and Trevathan earned 10-point tie-breaker victories at first and second singles, with Haugen beating Pham, 6-7 (4-7), 6-3, 10-2 and Trevathan edging Anderson, 6-7 (5-10), 6-3, 10-7. Twomey, playing her final match as a Scot, battled Kohner at No. 3 singles in a 10-point tie-breaker before falling, 6-2, 2-6, 10-7. The Pipers were able to earn straight-set wins at fourth, fifth and sixth singles to clinch the dual.

Twomey and Camellia Schwartzman (Galesburg, Ill./Galesburg) are the only seniors on this year's squad, as the Scots return seven players for next season.
