ST. PAUL, Minn. – The Macalester College women's cross country team competed in the Cannon River Closer, held at St. Olaf Thursday afternoon. The Oles won the team competition with 16 points compared to 43 for the Scots, who sent eight runners to Northfield.
Sophomore
Tilia Iverson (Roseville, Minn./Roseville) was the first Macalester runner across the finish line, taking fifth in 19:53.0 over 5000 meters. Senior
Julia Castellano (St. Louis, Mo./St. Joseph Academy) was next in seventh, followed by first year
Anna Lendrum Fort (Seattle, Wash./Lincoln) in ninth (20:22.9) and first year
Lucy Taylor (Park City, Utah/Park City) in 10th (20:24.4). Junior
Norah Juzenas (Silver Spring, Md./Sandy Spring Friends School) closed out the Scots' top five in 12th, with sophomore
Cate Stacy (Rochester, Minn./Mayo) taking 14th, first year
Megan Gullerud (Inver Grove Heights, Minn./Simley) finishing 15th and senior
Lily Hatrick (Brunswick, Maine/Brunswick) placing 17th.
Macalester now prepares for the NCAA North Region Meet, which will take place on Nov. 15 in Colfax, Wis.
