ST. PETER, Minn. – The Macalester men's tennis team fell to the No. 1 seeded Gustavus this afternoon in the MIAC Semifinals, 5-0. The Scots finish the season 9-11 (5-4 MIAC).
Juniors
Alec Sargent (Rochester, Minn./Rochester Century) and
Liam Lynch (St. Paul, Minn./St. Paul Academy) competed at No. 1 doubles while juniors
Jordan Doi (Mililani, Hawaii/Mililani) and
Lucas Wood (Urbana, Ill./University Lab School) played at No. 2 doubles. Both pairs fell 8-3. The Gusties also won the point at third doubles. Wood was able to win two games in each set at No. 3 singles, but fell 6-2, 6-2. Gustavus also took the point at fourth singles. The rest of the singles matches were unfinished, due to playoff matches going to decision.
This marks the last competition for senior
